Dr. Kushal Kharel is the founder of Kathmandu Mental Health Clinic and Psychiatry Counseling Center and a consultant psychiatrist. Dr. Kharel completed an MBBS at Jalalabad Medical College and an MD in Neuropsychiatry at KIST Medical College, and provides cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) alongside medical assessment and treatment.
How consultations work
The first visit is a conversation, not a test: Dr. Kharel listens to what you are going through, asks about your sleep, mood, stress, health and family, explains in plain words what may be happening, and agrees a plan with you. That can include talk therapy (CBT), medicine, or both. We aim for a full conversation rather than a quick prescription-only visit, and you decide with the doctor at each step.
Our psychiatrists assess and treat depression, anxiety, panic attacks, ocd, adult adhd, sleep and insomnia, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, addiction, memory and dementia, autism, stress and burnout, and more. See the full list of services.
